DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEEERING
From the Desk of the Head
| Mechanical Engineering is one
of the oldest and core discipline in Enginering field. In fact, Mechanical
Engineers are inherently multi-disciplinary as the design of a car engine
combines the fields of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, materials
science, mechnical design, electronics controls, dynamics and vibrations
, and chemistry. Althouth the Meachinal Engineers may specialize in any one of these fields, a cursory knowledge of each of these fields is necessary to interact with other engineers. The department has intake of 90+30* students. A competent and profssional team of 23 full time faculty, mostly having Ph.D. and M.Tech qualifications from reputed universities, is backing up the steady growth and development of this department. The dedicated faculty has created an active teaching-learning interface. The Internet facility has been provided to the offices of all faculty and technical supporting staff, as well as to all laboratories of the deptt. Other acitivities of the deptt includes Reasearch, Consultancy, Counseling,Carreer Guidance and Co-Curricular activities. Field Trips and Educational Tours are compulsary part of the curriculum where they visit private and public sector undertakings to have a feel of the latest technology. |
| The deptt has 16 laboratories fully equiped with latest equipment and has 12 technical supporting staff to provide strong and active support in the smooth functioning of the different laboratories. The laboratories are equipped to carry out research in all areas related to Mechancial and Production & Industrial Engg | |||
